Succeeding with Online Course Delivery
MSU supports two types of online course delivery: asynchronous and synchronous.
Asynchronous Delivery
In asynchronous delivery, students and faculty engage with course materials without a specific meeting time. Students can access learning at their convenience.
If your class is listed as "Online" without any days and times in the MyInfo schedule of classes, then it is an asynchronous online course. Blended and face-to-face courses may also have components delivered asynchronously.
MSU supports Brightspace for online asynchronous delivery.

Synchronous Delivery
In synchronous delivery, students and faculty work together at the same time through web-based communications technology.
If your class is listed as "Online" with days and times in the MyInfo schedule of classes, then it is an synchronous online course. Blended and face-to-face courses may also have components delivered synchronously.
MSU supports WebEx and Microsoft Teams for online synchronous delivery.
