Montana State University, Bozeman
For girls in grades 6-8

What is MSU STEAM Day?

MSU STEAM Day is a one-day conference that includes hands-on workshops in the STEAM fields of science, technology, engineering, art and math for girls in grades 6, 7, and 8. The purpose of the program is to introduce young women to the many different careers available to them. It offers fun, hands-on workshops in areas like astronomy, paleontology, robotics, health, engineering, veterinary medicine, chemistry and much more!

Each year this one-day conference at MSU-Bozeman includes hands-on STEAM workshops plus lunch, and group activities.

Spend a day at MSU, meet girls from around Montana and MSU students who are taking STEAM classes and pursuing STEAM field careers. You will get to try out some new, fun activities in MSU labs and studios. By the end of the day, you'll have some innovative and creative new ideas for thinking about your future.

Cost

$30 non-refundable registration fee. Includes lunch for participants.

How MSU STEAM Day Works

Each participant attends four workshops, which are clustered into “color groups.” For example, the Cherry group will attend workshops 1, 5, 10, 15.

See the 2023 color groups.

You will rank your top four color group choices during the registration process, so make sure you know which ones you want before registering.

Every effort will be made to place you in one of your top color choices; however, this is not guaranteed. All groups are unique and aim to prepare young women in Montana for future careers in STEAM fields and teach them about the application of STEAM in many other fields. Each color group is limited and fills on a first-come/first-served basis.

The conference is limited to 120 participants. Workshops are listed in numerical order, not in the order of presentation.

For Middle School Girls Only

Please note that MSU STEAM Day is an event for middle-schoolers only. We do not have space to accommodate parents. Thank you for your understanding.
