Information for Commuters (2026)
Program Orientation
Sunday, June 14, at 6:30 pm
- 6:30 pm, Commuter Check-In at South Hedges Hall lobby (park in Bobcat Lot #3)
- 7:00 pm, Mandatory Orientation for all parents and participants at Gaines Hall, Room 101
- 7:30 pm, Campus Tour followed by an Ice Cream Social for all parents and participants at Rendezvous Dining Pavilion
NOTE: Dinner will not be served on Sunday night; please eat before you arrive.
Daily Drop-Off & Pick-Up
General Notes
- All other drop-offs or pick-ups outside of the times designated below must be arranged with Camp Director Kathleen Linder.
- Campers 11 and younger must be checked out by a parent, guardian or approved adult with photo ID. Campers 12 and older may leave camp independently only with prior written permission from a parent/guardian.
Morning Drop-Off
- Drop-off occurs each morning from 8:00 – 8:15 am at the Rendezvous Dining Pavilion. (If needed, park in Bison Lot #9 for <15 minutes.)
Regular Commuter Pick-Up
- Monday – Thursday pick-up is at 5:00 pm at Rendezvous Dining Pavilion. (If needed, park in Bison Lot #9 for <15 minutes).
- If your camper is signed up for the Hyalite Field Trip on Thursday evening, they will need to pack a sack dinner and you will not need to pick them up until 8:30 pm at South Hedges Hall lobby.
- Friday pick-up is at 4:00 pm at South Hedges Hall lobby. (If needed, park in Bobcat Lot #3.)
Commuter + Dinner Pick-Up
- If your camper is not signed up for Evening Activities on Monday – Thursday, pick-up is at 6:00 pm at Rendezvous Dining Pavilion. (If needed, park in Bison Lot #9 for <15 minutes).
- If your camper is signed up for Evening Activities on Monday – Thursday, pick-up is at 8:30 pm at South Hedges Hall lobby. (Park in Bobcat Lot #3.)
- Friday pick-up is at 4:00 pm at South Hedges Hall lobby. (If needed, park in Bobcat Lot #3.)
Regular Commuter Evening Activity Drop-Off
- If your camper is signed up for Evening Activities on Monday – Wednesday, drop-off is at 6:30 pm at the activity venue. Up to 30 minutes of free parking is available in the Garage for evening drop-off, but you MUST enter your license plate at the kiosk to validate.
- If your camper signed up for the Hyalite Field Trip on Thursday, they will need to pack a sack dinner and you will not need to pick them up until 8:30 pm at South Hedges Hall lobby.
Evening Activity Pick-Up
- Evening activity pick-up is at 8:30 pm at South Hedges Hall lobby. (Park in Bobcat Lot #3.)
Campus Boundaries
Participants are required to remain on campus at all times unless with a Peaks class.
Meals
-
All commuters will have lunches provided Monday – Friday.
- Commuters + Dinner campers will have dinner provided Monday – Thursday with Thursday's meal being a sack dinner from Jimmy Johns.
- Meals will be in the Rendezvous Dining Pavillion. There is a variety of choices for each meal.
Items to Bring Each Day
- Weather-appropriate recreational clothes
- Workshop supplies distributed on day one (i.e. backpack, notebook, pencils, etc.)
- Close-toed shoes and/or tennis shoes (Open-toed shoes/sandals are not permitted in the MSU laboratories and aren’t suitable for gym activities.)
- Sunscreen
Optional Items to Bring:
- Rain jacket and/or umbrella
- Warm jacket
- Non flip-flop sandals (only permitted outside)
- A small amount of spending money for snacks, etc. (no more than $25 for the week)
- If attending Monday’s evening activities: Pool towel and swimsuit[
- If attending Tuesday’s evening activities: A small amount of spending money for arcade games, etc. (no more than $20)
- If attending Thursday’s evening activities: a sack dinner
Items to Leave at Home
- Your valuables! MSU is not responsible for the safety or loss of personal items.
- Skateboards and scooters (Commuter bikes must be locked with your own lock at the Residence Hall during the day.)
- Electronic devices, unless pre-approved by camp staff
