Information for Commuters
Program check-in
Sunday, June 16
- 6:30 p.m. Commuter Check-In at Roskie Residence Hall
- 7:00 p.m. Mandatory Orientation for all parents and participants in Gaines Hall Room 101
- 7:30 p.m. Campus Tour – all are welcome
- Ice Cream Social - all are welcome
- 8:30 p.m. Commuters head out
NOTE: Dinner will not be served on Sunday night; please eat before you arrive.
Commuter information
- Commuters may be dropped off each morning at the Rendezvous Dining Pavilion between 8:00 m. and 8:15 a.m.
- Commuter students may only leave the program at 5:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. daily.
- 5:00 p.m. commuter pick-ups will be at Rendezvous Dining Pavilion. The 8:30 p.m. pick-up will be at the Roskie Residence Hall Lobby. Other pick-ups or drop-offs must be arranged with Kathleen Linder, Camp Director. Please text or call 406-836-2085.
- Please note that a photo ID may be required to pick up the participant.
Clothing
- As MSU lab policy requires, participants must wear closed-toe shoes (tennis shoes are fine) during classes.
- Sandals are permitted, but flip-flops are not allowed.
Meals
- Commuters have two meal options: five lunches, or five lunches and four dinners. All meals should be pre-paid with other registration and activity fees.
- Meals will be in the Rendezvous Dining There is a variety of choices for each meal.
Campus boundaries
- Students must remain on campus at all times unless they are with a Peaks class or counselor.
Checklist of things to bring each day
- Backpack and water bottle (participants will receive a P&P cinch pack and water bottle)
- Towel
- Wear tennis shoes (or other closed-toe shoes) to classes and group activities. Open-toed shoes/sandals are not permitted in the MSU laboratories and aren’t suitable for gym
- Sandals are permitted, but flip-flops are not
- Closed-toe tennis shoes are required for all workshops with a field trip.
- Recreational clothes
- Notebook, pencils, and pens
- Rain jacket and/or umbrella
- Warm jacket
- Sunscreen
- A small amount of spending money for snacks, etc. (optional & no more than $5/day)
Items to leave at home
- All valuables! MSU is not responsible for the safety or loss of personal
- Skateboards or scooters - these items are not allowed. Bikes may be locked at the dorm (you must provide your own lock) but may not be used during workshops or organized activities. A parent/guardian/approved adult must still check out campers using bikes.
- No electronic devices (new policy) unless pre-approved by camp staff.
