Learning Canvas
Beginning summer session 2025, we will solely use Canvas.
Log in using your NetID@msu.montana.edu address and your NetID password.
MSU and Canvas are offering live training sessions in-person and online.
We recommend you have course content to work with to get the most out of the interactive training sessions.
Canvas provides an extensive array of self-service resources tailored for faculty members.
We encourage you to explore our On-Demand Canvas Resources page to access MSU recommendations.
Your course content from Summer 2022 through Spring 2025 will be migrated into Canvas for you by default. You must review and update this migrated content before it’s ready for students. Additionally, you may choose to migrate courses yourself or rebuild them from scratch.
Please visit our Migration page to access the steps for reviewing your automatically migrated course(s), adding additional content to your course, and migrating any other courses you may need.
Before building your course, review the tools available in Canvas and compare them with those you previously used in D2L Brightspace.
You can earn this badge by participating in at least three (3) Canvas training opportunities and demonstrating knowledge about Canvas’ essential tools and features to enhance your teaching.
