Enable Webex in Course Navigation
Enabling Webex in the course navigation within Canvas can provide several advantages for both instructors and students, streamlining the process of scheduling, joining, and managing meetings directly within the Canvas platform.

Log into Canvas:
Start by logging into your Canvas account and navigating to the course where you want to enable Webex. -
Go to Course Settings:
On the left-hand side of your course, scroll down and click on Settings. -
Navigate to the Navigation Tab:
Once you’re in the course settings, you'll see a series of tabs at the top. Click on the Navigation tab. -
Find Webex in the List:
Scroll through the list of items. You should see Webex listed under the “Disabled Items” section. -
Enable Webex:
To enable Webex, drag the Webex item from the Disabled Items section to the Active Items section. Alternatively, click the three dots next to Webex and choose Enable. -
Save Changes:
After moving Webex to the Active Items section, scroll down and click the Save button to apply the changes. -
Webex Appears in Course Navigation:
After saving, you’ll now see Webex listed in your course navigation menu on the left-hand side. You and your students can access Webex meetings and settings directly from there.
Steps to Add a Webex Link to a Module

Create a Webex Meeting:
- Go to your Webex account and create a meeting.
- Once the meeting is created, copy the meeting link.

Navigate to Your Canvas Course:
- Open your Canvas course.
- Go to the Modules section.

Add a New Item to the Module:
- In your Module, click the "+" button to add a new item.
- In the dropdown menu, select "External URL" (this option is for adding links).

Enter Webex Meeting Link:
- In the "URL" field, paste the Webex meeting link you copied earlier.
- In the "Page Name" field, give the link a descriptive title (e.g., "Join Webex Meeting").
- You can choose whether to "Load in a new tab" for the link to open in a separate browser tab when clicked.

Save the Item:
- After filling out the details, click "Add Item" to save the Webex meeting link to your module.
Now, the Webex meeting link will be accessible from the module, and students can click it to join the meeting.
Steps to Add an External Webex Link in the Rich Content Editor (for any Canvas area):

Navigate to the Section in Canvas (Assignment, Discussion, Quiz, Announcement, etc.) where you want to add the link.

Open the Rich Content Editor:
- If you're in an Assignment, click Edit on the assignment page.
- If you're in a Discussion, click Reply or +Discussion.
- If you're in an Announcement, click + Announcement.
- If you're in a Quiz, click the Edit button.

Enter Text: Write the text you'd like to display around your link (e.g., "Join the Webex Meeting" or "Click here to access the Webex session").

Highlight the Text you want to turn into a hyperlink.

Insert the Link:
- Click the Link Icon (it looks like a chain link) in the Rich Content Editor toolbar.
- A pop-up window will appear. Paste the Webex meeting link into the URL field.

Optional Link Settings:
- You can choose to make the link open in a new tab by selecting the gear icon next to the URL field.
- You can also add a title for the link (e.g., "Webex Meeting Link").

Click "Insert Link" to finalize the link.

Save or Publish: After inserting the link, make sure to Save or Publish the page, assignment, discussion, or announcement to make it visible to students.
Creating a Webex Link Using Calendar Integration
You can also create a calendar event in Canvas with the Webex link.
Steps:
- Create a Webex Meeting and copy the meeting link.
- Go to the Calendar in Canvas and click on the desired date/time for the event.
- In the event details, paste the Webex meeting link into the description.
- Set the time, date, and other details for the event.
- Save the event and notify students by inviting them to the event.
